Wayne Fontana was born Glyn Ellis in Manchester, England. He either named himself after Elvis’s drummer D.J. Fontana or Fontana Records. “Game Of Love” would be Wayne Fontana and The Mindbenders only Top 40 single in the US- but it was a big one. A dumb song but a great sounding single. Fontana left the band in the fall of 1965- and as The Mindbenders they would have another big hit #2 “Groovy Kind Of Love” in 1966.
