Ronald Bertram Aloysius Greaves was half Native American and was raised on a Seminole Reservation in California. He was the nephew of the great Sam Cooke. He had 5 Hot 100 singles with 2 making the Top 40. His big hit was a #2 “Take A Letter Maria” 1969. “Always Something There To Remind Me” was first on the charts with Lou Johnson #49 in 1964, Sandie Shaw #52 in 1965, Dionne Warwick #65 in 1968 and found its biggest success with Naked Eyes #8 in 1983. Great song- but it was written by Bacharach/ David how could it not be. R.B. Greaves died in 2012 at the age of 67 from cancer.
