This was the only Hot 100 single for The Lovelites- a female R&B trio from Chicago. The subject of “How Can I Tell My Mom And Dad” was teen pregnancy- not exactly a subject that was going to be embraced by many radio stations in 1970. The single did go as high as #15 on the R&B singles chart.
