Lenny Welch an R&B singer from Bruce Springsteen Country- Asbury Park, New Jersey had 9 Hot 100 singles with 3 making the Top 40 from 1960-72. His biggest hit was “Since I Fell For You #4 in 1963. The version of “Breaking Up Is Hard To Do” that was the huge hit was the original by Neil Sedaka #1 in 1962 but it has been on the charts numerous times over the years- #67 The Happenings in 1968, The Partridge Family #28 in 1972, and a slow version by Neil Sedaka in 1976 that peaked at #8.
