649. “He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother.”- The Hollies. Epic. Pop. Written by Bob Russell and Bobby Scott. B-side:”Cos You Like To Love Me” Peaked at #7 18 weeks on the chart. The Hollies had 23 Hot 100 singles with 12 making the Top 40. “He Ain’t Heavy He’s My Brother” went to #1 in the UK. Their biggest hit would come in 1972 with “Long Cool Woman In A Black Dress” #2. The Sandpipers had 4 Hot 100 singles with 3 making the Top 40. Their biggest hit was #9 “Guantanamara” 1966. “Come Saturday Morning” was featured in the movie “The Sterile Cuckoo.” Grade: C+
