The first of 3 Hot 100 hits from this pop-rock band from Holland- it was their only Top 40 hit. This song would go to #1 twice- the original here- and in 1986 with Bananarama. Grade: A

636. “She”- Tommy James and The Shondells. Roulette. Pop. Written by Tommy Jams, Bob King and Mike Vale. B-side:”Loved One.” Peaked at #23 8 weeks on the chart. The 4th of 4 1969 Hot 100 hits- all of which made the Top 40 for Tommy James and The Shondells. Grade: B-.

637. “Point It Out”- Smokey Robinson and The Miracles. Tamla. Soul. Written by Alfred Cleveland, Smokey Robinson and Marvin Tarplin. B-side: “Darling Dear.” Peaked at #37 and 8 weeks on the chart. The 5th of 5 Top 40 hits in 1969 by Smokey and The Miracles all of which were Top 40 hits. But mom it’s Smokey. Grade: B.
Of course I love the first one. I like Tommy James et al and Smoky Robinson et al, but neither of these songs does a thing for me.
