627. “Wonderful World, Beautiful People”- Jimmy Cliff. A&M. Reggae. Written by Jimmy Cliff. B-side:”Waterfall.” Peaked at #25 11 weeks on the chart. Born James Chambers in St. James, Jamaica- as Jimmy Cliff this would be the first of 3 Hot 100 singles by the future reggae great from 1969-93. He was elected to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010. Grade: B+
