Every Entry Into The Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart- 1969- Part 185. The three singles today all entered the chart on November 22, 1969- “Sunday Mornin'”-Oliver, “I’ll Hold Out My Hand”- The Clique and “Blistered”- Johnny Cash.

603. “Sunday Mornin'”-Oliver . Crewe. Rock. Written by Margo Guryan. B:side”Let Me Kiss You With A Dream.” Peaked at #35 9 weeks on the chart. 1969 was the year for Oliver- born William Oliver Swofford in NASCAR country- North Wilkesboro, North Carolna.  He had two big hits in “Good Morning Starshine” #3 and “Jean” #2. He was 24 ears old. He would only have one Hot 100 hit after “Sunday Mornin’ Grade: C+

 

604. ” I’ll Hold Out My Hand”- The Clique. White Whale. Rock. Written by Al Gorgoni and Chip Taylor. B-side:”Soul Mates.” Peaked at #45 7 weeks on he chart. A pop-rock band out of Beaumont, Texas- Clique had 3 of their 4 Hot 100 singles in 1969- their biggest being a #22 “Sugar On Sunday.” their only Top 40 hit. Grade: B

605. ‘Blistered”- Johnny Cash. Columbia. Country. Written by Billy Edd Wheeler. B-side to “See Ruby Fall.” Peaked at #50 9 weeks on the chart. A two sided hit- “See Ruby Fall” peaked at #70 earlier in November 1969. Grade: B
