Every Entry Into The Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart- 1969- Part 177. The three singles today came onto the chart on November 8, 1969. “Volunteers”- Jefferson Airplane, “Girls It Ain’t Easy” -The Honey Cone and {I’m So} Afraid Of Losing You Again”- Charley Pride.

580. “Volunteers”- Jefferson Airplane. RCA. Rock. Written by Marty Balin and Paul Kantner. B-side:” We Can Be Together.” Peaked at #65 10 weeks on the chart. As Jefferson Airplane they had 8 Hot 100 singles with 2 making the Top 40- both in 1967- ‘Somebody To Love”-#5 and “White Rabbit” #6. They would go on to have bigger hits as Jefferson Starship and Starship but to me their best music was as Jefferson Airplane in the 60’s. Grade: A

I remember/know the first one. Love them. The 2nd…no clue. Charley Pride…have mercy. Always loved him.
Charley was an outstanding singer- and pioneer. Class act.
