529. “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye.”- Steam featuring Garrett Scott. Fontana. Pop. Written by Dale Frashuer, Gary DeCarlo and Paul Leka. B-side:”It’s The Magic In You Girl” Peaked at #1 for 2 weeks and 16 weeks on the chart. Steam would have two Hot 100 hits- this was by far the biggest. The 1978 Chicago White Sox would take this song as their theme. Grade: A.

530. “Come Together”- The Beatles.Apple. Rock. Written by John Lennon-Paul McCartney. B-side: “Something”- would peak at #3 of this double a single. “Come Together” would peak at #1 and spend 16 weeks in the Hot 100. The Beatles would have 5 Top 40 hits in 1969. Grade: A+.

531. “Take A Letter Maria”- R.B. Greaves. Atko. Pop. Written by R.B. Greaves. B-side:”Big Bad City.” Peaked at #2 and spent 15 weeks on the chart. Greaves a half- Native American was raised on a Seminole reservation in California- he was a nephew to Sam Cooke. He would have 5 Hot 100 singles- 2 making the Top 40 in 1969-70. Grade: A.
” Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye” was very well known track, but the only thing for me that is memorable is the chanting of the title.
