The Sounds Of Summer- Day 88/95: “Beach Baby”- First Class. The only Top 40 hit by First Class – a British band- I had no idea that they were British they sound American to me- well this is the only song of theirs I’ve heard. It peaked at #4 in 1974. I had forgotten about this-until it popped up on the AT 40 replay on the 70’s on 7 over the weekend. My favorite lines in the song. A good pop song.
Beach Baby, Beach Baby, there on the sand
From July to the end of September
Surfin’ was fun, we’d be out in the sun every day.

I saw this on your top 40 and I almost did it today…very very close lol. I hadn’t heard it in years until yesterday.
I think I heard it a few months ago- but before that- it had been years. When it was on that Top 40 yesterday – it solved my problem- as the summer is nearing its end I am running out of songs for summer!
You are closing in on the end!
Yes summer has flew by–and that is fine with me!
Fall is my favorite season…I don’t know if it is because it connects me with school or what…I love jacket weather.
I am with you- I don’t know about in the Nashville area but up this way the past two years it seems like it went from summer- a couple weeks of fall then winter.. hoping for a longer fall this year… last year the leaves were green until late october than- off the trees…
Same here…I was telling Jennifer that it’s like we don’t have Fall or Spring anymore…it just jumps into Winter/Summer. Fall and Spring are just short detours now until the extreme starts.
Let’s hope we get back to a great long fall season this year! While we were away we had fall weather for the most part- back home today to the mid 80s…
I know…I went out and walked this weekend..I was drenched when I was done. They are calling for high 90s here…I don’t like this.
high 90’s and I was complaining about mid 80’s….
Lol it evens out in Winter…That is the price I pay for being this far south…I just checked the weather and it actually says…Mon 99 degrees…that is crazy.
wow 99… that’s crazy for mid September in Tennessee I’d think…
Yes it is…this is more Alanta than Nashville.
or a lot like Texas too
Classy arrangement with horns. it sounds like the Monkees to me.
