- BUDDY HOLLY: THE ‘CHIRPING” CRICKETS: 1957: ROCK: GRADE: A++. APPLE: Buddy Holly would have been 83 today. His widow still lives. It is quite possible if he hadn’t gotten on that plane that night back in 1959 he’d still be here too. A great album before albums were fairly new.

Yup! I have a take coming up on Buddy. He is without a doubt an essential in my record pile. Special guy , special music. Man was it a great day when I discovered BH. Good stuff.
I discovered Buddy from reading about The Beatles love for him.
So many musicians I like from Joe Ely to Springsteen all have a love for Buddy. Same a us.
I can’t imagine anyone NOT loving Buddy!
