The Sounds of Summer: Day 69 of 95: “Summertime, Summertime”- The Jamies. I hadn’t heard this song in a long time “Summertime, Summertime” peaked at #26 in 1958. The Jamies were based out of Boston and fronted by brother-sister Tom and Serena Jameson. The song would become a much covered one- Jan and Dean, Sha Na Na among others and has also over the years been featured in commercials. This was the only hit The Jamies ever had- and it was a hit twice- it was re-released in 1962 and peaked at #38.
