The Sounds of Summer- Day 45 of 95- “Those Lazy- Hazy- Crazy Days of Summer” by Nat King Cole. The song was composed by Hans Carste and first recorded in 1962 by Willy Hagara. It became an easy listening classic in 1963 when it went to #6 on the charts being sung by Nat King Cole. It would be the final Top 10 hit by Cole who would die at the young age of 45 in 1965 of lung cancer. I thought the song was a 1950’s song- it certainly doesn’t seem like something released right before the British Invasion. A good summer tune though.

  1. One of the things I loved about working at WHND Honey Radio in Detroit was that every summer, the music director would spike summer songs into the rotation. We played this SO many times! Such a great song by one of the great voices!!
