The Sounds of Summer- Day 34 of 95- “In The Summertime”- Bob Dylan. From Bob Dylan’s 21st studio album- 1981’s “Shot Of Love” an album that I may like a little more than most people do. One of my favorite tracks on that album- is “In The Summertime” Dylan’s song is one of the more upbeat songs on the album. The part of the song that sticks in my mind the most is Bob’s harmonica which is not featured on this live track. Can’t find the Shot Of Love version- here is a live version from 1981.

I like the breeziness of this song but this is one of the few Dylan tracks that just doesn’t feel like a Dylan song. I don’t know if it’s the melody or the chorus specifically. Some on Empire Burlesque have that affect on me too including ‘Emotionally Yours’ and ‘I’ll remember You’.
