The song was written by James Hendricks and is about lifelong love during the ‘summer of love.” The song released in November 1967- just months after The Beatles Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album came out- that album is referenced in the song which is of course one of the reasons I always liked it.
