The Sounds of Summer- Day 28 of 95 “Summer Rain”-Johnny Rivers. “Summer Rain” was a #14 hit in early 1968 by Johnny Rivers. The song was written by James Hendricks and is about lifelong love during the ‘summer of love.” The song released in November 1967- just months after The Beatles Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album came out- that album is referenced in the song which is of course one of the reasons I always liked it.
Summer Rain- the past two summers in eastern Ohio we have gotten more than enough summer rain- the remnants of Barry just went through most of yesterday. A nice summer rain is usually just fine with me but not the torrential downpours and thunderstorms.
We had an abrupt thunderstorm with high winds earlier today that just as quickly left. Enough to get things wet. Sorry you’re getting drenched in Ohio. I really like this song always have. Johnny Rivers has a wonderful soulful voice that can handle just about any song.
