Hans Remembers- News Headlines from Tuesday July 15, 1969-

- The zoning board for the town of Wallkill, New York says NO to Woodstock Ventures and their plans to hold the Woodstock Festival rock concert on land in the town that had been leased to. They would find a place- Max Yasgur’s farm 40 miles away in Bethel, New York to hold the concert in mid- August. Wonder if anyone will show up for that festival? Max Yasgur pictured above.
- A day away from the scheduled lift off of Apollo 11- scheduled for 9:32 AM EST tomorrow. Astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Mike Collins to begin their mission that will put man on the Moon. I was eight years old and so excited I had a hard time falling asleep the night before.
lol. I bet Yasgur and a lot of others wondered that same thing…
Yeah, double lol– I wonder if Yasgur regretted making that decision?!
I would have!!
He said he never regretted it- he passed away at the age of 53 in 1973. Heart related.
