The Beatles Cover of the Day- “Lady Madonna”- Fats Domino. The Beatles hit single written by Paul McCartney. The song was to start with a Fats Domino style song so it was only natural that The Fat Man himself would cover it- and he does an outstanding job on it- released in 1968 not long after The Beatles released it. Paul told producer Richard Perry that they song was ‘based on Fats” which led to the recording. The song was included on the Fats Domino album Fats Is Back. It was releases as a single by Fats Domino and peaked at #100- it would end up being the 77th and final Billboard Hot 100 hit for Fats Domino.
