HANS REMEMBERS- SUNDAY MAY 4, 1969- MONTREAL WINS HOCKEY’S STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONSHIP- AGAIN

Hans Remembers- Sunday May 4, 1969- for the second season in a row the Montreal Canadians defeated the St. Louis Blues in the Stanley Cup finals. The Canadians easily swept the Blues in the best out of seven series. The Canadians won the first two games in Montreal by scores of 3-1. Game 3 in St. Louis-was a 4-0 Canadian win and in Game 4- a closer game a 2-1 Canadian victory. The Conn Smythe Trophy for the Stanley Cup MVP went to Montreal’s Serge Savard.  It was the 4th time in 5 years that the Canadians had won the Stanley Cup and their 16th Stanley Cup in their history.
