The Rolling Stones Song of the Day is- All Down The Line- the first song on side 4 of Exile On Main St. All Down The Line was written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. At first the plan was to release All Down The Line as the lead-single off of the album- but in the end it ended up as a b-side to the second single “Happy.” This is one of the songs that Allen Klein sued The Rolling Stones over because it was a song that was written back when his publishing company held the rights to The Rolling Stones songs. It actually was the first song completed on Exile. This does sound like it had ‘hit’ potential. A rock and roll number that obviously The Stones were fond of- it has been played on most of the tours since the early 70’s. Rolling Stone Magazine ranked it #53 on their 100 Greatest Rolling Stones songs list.
