- THE BEATLES: MEET THE BEATLES: Today I had a Beatles day- and it was one of listening to the U.S. versions of the albums-[at least eight of them] Up until Sgt. Pepper -Capitol Records policy in the US was to take what was released in the UK- the albums as The Beatles wanted them released- and bastardized them by giving the American public less songs on the albums- so they could put out more albums. These are the albums I was introduced to in my Beatlemania. It wasn’t until the late 80’s that the UK versions were released in the US- I got those releases and for the past thirty years plus that is how I listen to The Beatles. Once in a while I listen to the old Capitol versions. Also not the cheap looking covers of some of the US versions- the UK versions were all about quality- some of The Beatles US released- through no fault at all to the group- look quickly put together as far as the album covers. At the bottom is a guide the the US released from ultimateclassicguide– attached. Not going to rate or comment on the individual albums. It’s The Beatles the music is great.

I’ve always like their pre.Rubber Soul era the best of all
“Meet the Beatles” was the very first album I ever bought. I was 9 years old, and I still own my vintage copy.
That is a great first album to own! And it is also great that you still have it!
Thanks for the link, Hans.
