1969 Song of the Day is- “Smile A Little Smile For Me’ by The Flying Machine. The Flying Machine were a British pop band and the single “Smile A Little Smile For Me” which went to #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 was their only hit. The group released two albums and six singles before breaking up in 1971. Smile A Little Smile for me an adult contemporary classic from the late 60’s. There was another group called the Flying Machine that was mentioned in the James Taylor classic “Fire and Rain”- but it wasn’t these boys.

I really loved this as a young teen when it was a hit. Don’t like it as much now, though it’s a decent song.
Something if it is on the radio I would listen… I wouldn’t seek it out. Not a bad tune at all. a nice hit.
