The Rolling Stones Song of the Day- You Got The Silver. You Got The Silver is the second song on side 2 of Let It Bleed. The song was written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards but written by Richards about his then girlfriend Anita Pallenberg.  It is the first Rolling Stones song with Keith Richards singing the lead throughout the song. Brian Jones plays autoharp on the song- and this would close the chapter on Brian Jones as far as his appearing on Stones albums are concerned. He was dead by the time the album was released. Superstar session man Nicky Hopkins plays piano and organ on You Got The Silver. The Stones did record a version of the song with Mick singing the lead but decided to go with the one with Keith singing.
