The Rolling Stones Song of the Day is- Live With Me. Live With Me written by the usual Stones songwriting team of Mick Jagger and Keith Richards is the fourth song on side one of Let It Bleed. This is a landmark song in the history of The Rolling Stones because it is the first song that new member- guitarist Mick Taylor worked on. It wasn’t the first song Taylor worked on that was released- the #1 hit single Honky Tonk Woman was the first released which has him playing. Taylor played on two songs on Let It Bleed- Live With Me and Country Honk. It was also the first song that saxophonist Bobby Keys played on- and while he was never a Rolling Stone he was for the rest of his life a prominent back up musician for them. Other guests on this song- Leon Russell who would make his only appearance on a Stones song and the ever present at this time session super star Nicky Hopkins who both were on the piano. Hopkins was an interesting case- any band would have been lucky to have him as a member but he suffered from Crohn’s disease and his frequent surgeries made it difficuilt for him to travel so he worked as a session musician most of his career. He passed away in 1994 at 50. Live With Me was never a single but it has ;been over the years a frequently played on Stones tours.
