It was fifty years ago today- The Godfather of Soul- James Brown- aka The Hardest Working Man in Show Business- performed at the Nixon Inaugural. Brown had voted for Humphrey but he was for giving Nixon a chance [he would endorse The Tricky One in 1972} He performed “Say It Loud- I’m Black And I’m Proud” at the Nixon Inaugural.   1. Sorry. Nixon did NOT deserve Brown’s presence. Brown had the wool pulled over his eyes ’72. Like a lot of people. Oh, well.

  2. Just read the article you left the link for. J.B. backed out of the ’72 inauguration after his popularity began to plummet! Lol! Guess he didn’t believe in Tricky Dick THAT much, did he?

    • That election was never going to be close maybe JB just thought at first being on the side of the winner would be a good thing…
