- XTC: ORANGES AND LEMONS: 1989: 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: The double album follow up to XTC’s break through Skylarking album {they released a Dukes Of The Stratosphear album in between} 15 songs clocking in at an hour- it might not match Skylarking but it’s pretty close. There is a lot going on here in the songs. Beatles influence is apparent. I’d call it XTC”s White Album. Favorite songs on this- The Mayor Of Simpleton [the closest XTC came to an American hit single} King For A Day, Here Comes President Kill Again, The Loving, Merely A Man

- THE BEATLES: HELP! SOUNDTRACK: STEREO AND MONO: 1965: 4 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: This is the American soundtrack version- 7 Beatles songs and then instrumental music by Ken Thorne. Interesting as something different. Also the version of the title track isn’t the same as the UK release- this one is the version of Help! with the instrumental up front.
also listened to this weeks 3 hours of Celtic Crush on The Loft with host Larry Kirwan.
