ALBUMS

Crowded house - ch.jpg

  • CROWDED HOUSE: CROWDED HOUSE: 1986: 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: Crowded House’s debut album is a perfect pop album. There were two Top 10 hits in the US from this album- their signature song “Don’t Dream It’s Over #2 and Something So Strong #7.  There were three other songs that were hits in different countries around the world- Mean To Me, World Where We Live and Now We’re Getting Somewhere. The entire album is full of hits to me. This would be their big commercial hit in the US- the album went to #6 and platinum. They would never have another Top 40 hit in the US.

  • CROWDED HOUSE: TEMPLE OF LOW MEN: 1988: 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: The second album was another gem but a bit darker than the debut and maybe that is why in the US anyway that it wasn’t as much of a success and no hit singles. I Feel Possessed, Into Temptation, Better Be Home Soon, Sister Madly, When You Come among my favorites in this album.

Crowded House-Woodface (album cover).jpg

  • CROWDED HOUSE: WOODFACE: 1991: 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: Another excellent album and there were 5 singles- but none hit in the US- Chocolate Cake, Fall At Your Feet, Weather With You, Four Seasons In One Day, and Weather With You all classics in my book- all should have been smash hits. Maybe their best album. This was the album Tim Finn joined the group.

  • CROWED HOUSE:TOGETHER ALONE: 1993: 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: More great Neil Finn songwriting. There were 5 hits off this album in the UK – my favorite Crowded House song ‘Distant Sun” being one of them. The others- Nails In My Feet, Locked Out, Fingers Of Love, Pineapple Head. This would be the last Crowded House studio album until 2007.
