The Beatles Song of the Day is Her Majesty. Her Majesty was written by Paul McCartney and is the final song on the final Beatles recorded album. Paul as usual- he lived right down the street from Abbey Road studio’s- was the first to the studio on the day he recorded the song and did it alone in three takes before the others arrived. Clocking in at .23 it is the shortest Beatles song by far. At first Her Majesty was going to be in the middle of the medley but Paul changed his mind and put it at the end.   Paul McCartney: vocal, acoustic guitar: Produced by George Martin

  • rating of Her Majesty ** out of 5 stars.
  • Her Majesty was never released as a single.
  • Recorded on July 2, 1969.
  • Length of song: :23.
  • Spignesi and Lewis consider it a part of the medley #36, Rolling Stone, The Beatles Channel’s Listeners poll and Jim Beviglia do not rank it- Critic Bill Wyman has it at #158.

Her Majesty’s a pretty nice girl,
But she doesn’t have a lot to say
Her Majesty’s a pretty nice girl
But she changes from day to day
I want to tell her that I love her a lot
But I gotta get a bellyful of wine
Her Majesty’s a pretty nice girl
Someday I’m going to make her mine, oh yeah,
Someday I’m going to make her mine.

  1. This song would make me jump because of the silence before and the jarring chord that opened it…I think the chord was left over from one of the medley songs.
