The Beatles Song of the Day is- She Came In Through The Bathroom Window. The song was written by Paul McCartney and is part of the side 2 medley on Abbey Road. The song was recorded along with Polythene Pam-as one recording. She Came In Through The Bathroom Window was inspired by one of the Apple scruffs who was always hanging outside Apple, Abbey Road and the groups homes. She climbed up a ladder that had been left in Paul’s garden- went though the bathroom window and stole a photograph of Paul’s father James. To get it back Paul had to negotiate with her and even doing a little private detective work. Paul finished the song in New York City- he got one line from a cabbie- who said “So, I quit the police department.” John Lennon: double-tracked vocal, backing vocal, 12 string acoustic guitar: Paul McCartney:-double-tracked vocal, backing vocal, bass, lead guitar, piano, electric piano: George Harrison: backing vocals, lead guitar: Ringo Starr: drums, tambourine, maracas, cowbell: Producer George Martin.

Protected by a silver spoon
But now she sucks her thumb and wanders
By the banks of her own lagoon
Didn’t anybody see?
Sunday’s on the phone to Monday
Tuesday’s on the phone to me
She worked at fifteen clubs a day
And though she thought I knew the answer
Well, I knew what I could not say
And got myself a steady job
And though she tried her best to help me
She could steal but she could not rob
Didn’t anybody see?
Sunday’s on the phone to Monday,
Tuesday’s on the phone to me
Oh yeah
It’s hard to believe Paul or any star then was that accessible.
He negotiated with the girls to get the picture back. he lived right down the street from Abbey Road- anyone could have just waited for him to leave the house. Good thing the worst they did was sneak in and take the picture.
Shows you what a different time and society it was… No way someone would do that now.
No one would even think of it. Sad but true.
