It was fifty years ago today- September 10, 1968- a Harvard Professor named Henry Kissinger- an expert on foreign policy- began his relationship with then Republican Presidential nominee Richard Milhous Nixon by calling Nixon’s foreign policy advisor Richard Allen and offering up his services. During the campaign Kissinger who had many friends who were working for President Johnson on the Paris Peace Talks- would fill in the Nixon campaign with classified information from the on going talks. When The Tricky One was elected- Henry Kissinger was named National Security Advisor- a position he served until November 1975. He was also named Secretary of State in 1973- he would serve in that position with Nixon and then President Ford- until Carter took over in January 1977. The controversial Hank is still living- age 95.
