The Beatles Song of the Day is Honey Pie. Honey Pie is on side 4 of The Beatles White Album it was written by Paul McCartney. Earlier on the album Paul had a throwaway “Wild Honey Pie” this song is a little more substantial. She was a working girl
North of England way
Now she’s hit the big time
In the U.S.A.
And if she could only hear me
This is what I’d say.
Honey pie, you are making me crazy
I’m in love but I’m lazy
So won’t you please come home.
Oh honey pie, my position is tragic
Come and show me the magic
Of your Hollywood song.
You became a legend of the silver screen
And now the thought of meeting you
Makes me weak in the knee.
Oh honey pie, you are driving me frantic
Sail across the Atlantic
To be where you belong.
Will the wind that blew her boat
Across the sea
Kindly send her sailing back to me.
Honey pie, you are making me crazy
I’m in love but I’m lazy
So won’t you please come home.

  1. I like this Honey Pie much better than the Wild Honey Pie. I have a guilty pleasure for this song. John’s solo is fantastic…

    • The White Album- a treasure of riches- 40 years ago I could take or leave Helter Skelter- now its one of my favorites on the album.

    • When I heard it was the time the Helter Skelter TV movie came out or when I saw it so it spooked me a little… It really is…it has a little something for everyone…I do like some twenties recordings so that is probably the reason I like Honey Pie.
