The Beatles Song of the Day is Sexy Sadie. Sexy Sadie is on side 3 of The Beatles White Album. The song was written by John Lennon while The Beatles were at the retreat with The Maharishi. The song was originally going to be called Maharishi- but Lennon changed it when George Harrison asked him to. Lennon became disillusioned with the Maharishi when he allegedly made a pass at Mrs. Frank Sinatra- Mia Farrow. There are those who believe the story was fabricated by Magic Alex Mardas a Greek electronics engineer who was close with The Beatles at the time.  Lennon said he wrote the song in India after they had packed their bags and were ready to leave- it being the last of many songs he wrote while in India. When the Maharishi asked Lennon why he was leaving Lennon told him ” Well, if you’re so cosmic you’ll know why.” It was after they got back and were recording when Harrison insisted that John change it to Sexy Sadie and not Maharishi. May have also avoided some legal issues by changing it.  John Lennon: double-tracked vocal, backing vocal, acoustic guitar, electric rhythm guitar, Hammond organ: Paul McCartney: backing vocal, bass, piano: George Harrison: backing vocal, lead guitar: Ringo Starr: drums, tambourine. Produced by George Martin.

Sexy Sadie, what have you done
You made a fool of everyone
You made a fool of everyone
Sexy Sadie, ooh, what have you done
Sexy Sadie, you broke the rules
You laid it down for all to see
You laid it down for all to see
Sexy Sadie, ooh, you broke the rules
One sunny day the world was waiting for a lover
She came along and turned on everyone
Sexy Sadie, the greatest of them all
Sexy Sadie, how did you know
The world was waiting just for you
The world was waiting just for you
Sexy Sadie, ooh, how did you know
Sexy Sadie, you’ll get yours yet
However big you think you are
However big you think you are
Sexy Sadie, ooh, you’ll get yours yet
We gave her everything we owned just to sit at her table
Just a smile would lighten everything
Sexy Sadie, she’s the latest and the greatest of them all
She made a fool of everyone
Sexy Sadie
However big you think you are
Sexy Sadie
