It was fifty years ago today- July 13, 1968 Beatle John Lennon visited his Aunt Mimi at her home in Poole, Dorset and introduces her to Yoko Ono. John’s Aunt Mimi Smith- was the sister of his mother Julia. Mimi would be the person who raised John. It is said that John no matter what was going on in his life- even in the craziness of Beatlemania would call and check on Mimi every week until the end of his life. I would have liked to have been a fly on the wall when Yoko met Mimi.

This is probably true–I bet that was an interesting day. I bet even John Lennon was a little nervous on the way to her house.
From all I’ve read at first she wanted Cynthia back with him…She probably never warmed up to either.
I am willing to bet she started to like Cynthia a bit better when Yoko came along.
Oh yes. I think it’s in her last book that she did reach out to her…
