It was fifty years ago today- July 13, 1968 Gary Player won his second British Open beating Bob Charles and Jack Nicklaus by two strokes. His four day scores were 74, 71, 71 and 73 =273 1 over par for the tournament. Player one of the world’s greatest ever players would win three Opens in his career. It was his 5th major title- he would finish his career with 9 grand slam titles. The tournament was held at Carnoustie Golf Links in Carnoustie, Angus, Scotland. That will be the course used next week for the 2018 Open. Gary Player is now 82 years old and keeps himself in great physical shape.
