  1. Holy moly, look at all these songs – Kodachrome (Paul Simon), Long Train Runnin’ (The Doobie Brothers), Bad Bad LeRoy Brown (Jim Croce), Smoke On The Water (Deep Purple), Give It To Me (J. Geils Band), Money (Pink Floyd), No More Mr. Nice Guy (Alice Cooper) – it almost looks unreal when you compare this with today’s top 40 where it’s typically hard to find even one song that’s half-way decent.

BTW, while I wouldn’t go as far as hating Paul McCarrney’s “My Love,” I would agree it’s not among his best work!

    • Most weeks have a few down right stinkers- like some song from The Osmonds etc… this is kind of a strange week I would say the Clint Holmes song comes close with the “My name is Michael…” pretty bad but most weeks have worse.

  2. I also cant stand ‘PLAYGROUND IN MY MIND ‘ – AWFUL song. DRIFT AWAY is another song that I never really liked. I could not understand why it was played on CLASSIC ROCK stations either. To me it sounds like ‘ light music ‘ that should be played along with music like NEIL DIAMOND and BARBARA STREISAND.

    • I love Drift Away- I never thought of that song not belonging on the classic rock stations etc…. now we certainly agree on Playground In My Mind– the whole “my name is Michael etc” — pure garbage and Clint Holmes only hit.
