It was inspired by The Beatles arrival in Melbourne, Australia. It was raining so hard that John said “I’ve never seen it rain as hard as that except in Tahiti. Also it was inspired by people complaining about the weather all time time.No doubt also a song influenced by John’s use of LSD during this period of time. This has to be the greatest Beatles b-side. One of the things that really stands out on this in addition to Paul’s bass playing is Ringo’s drums. This is in my opinion Ringo’s finest performance.
