- CAPTAIN BEEFHEART: SAFE AS MILK: 1967: 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: The debut album from Captain Beefheart- much more accessible than his later work- features the guitar work of a 20 year old Ry Cooder. Blues based songs. The Beatles were said to have admired this album. This sounds like pop music in comparison to his later albums.

- TERRY CASHMAN: GREATEST BASEBALL HITS: 1991: 4 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: I love baseball and I love songs about baseball and Terry Cashman wrote and performed one of the best in “Talkin’ Baseball” in the early 1980’s. I like most of the songs on this but the ones that really grab me are “Talkin’ Baseball” and “Play by Play {I Saw It On The Radio} about baseball’s great broadcasters.

- ELVIS PRESLEY: THE SEARCHER: SOUNDTRACK: 2018- 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: The soundtrack to the highly acclaimed two part HBO documentary on The King. Not a greatest hits but a mixture of great songs and a few rarities. I see where there is a 3 disc set out on it- this one is a single disc and 18 songs. Excellent companion to the series. I played this one two times in a row.
“We’re talkin’ baseball, baseball in St. Lou!” I remember it well – that version at least. 🙂
