Goal is to listen to 1500 different albums in 12 months.

TODAY listened to 3 different albums. 146 day total-838 different albums. On pace for 2095 different albums.

  • SUN RECORD COMPANY: 50 GOLDEN YEARS 1952-2002: CLASSIC AND RARE RECORDINGS FROM THE LEGENDARY SUN LABEL: 2002: DISC 8. The final disc of the 8 disc box set. As I wrote when I started this box set- there is no Elvis on here [except for a 2 song vinyl single of his first Sun single-} so if you want a more affordable set go with the 3 disc- The Sun Records Collection- which also concentrates on the artists that made Sun famous.
  • SGT. PEPPER’S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND SOUNDTRACK: 1978:DISC 1:  1/2 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: There have been dozens and dozens of great Beatles covers by other artists and then you have this. Save “Come Together” by Aerosmith and “Got To Get You Into My Life”- by Earth, Wind and Fire- you won’t find anything here. A disaster area. I guess the movie was worse than the soundtrack by a nose but this is bad stuff. Has Peter Frampton’s career ever recovered from the double wammy of “I’m In You” and his appearance here? I was young and dumb and bought this the day it came out. I am pretty certain I listened to it a half dozen times maybe- and haven’t listened to it- for 39 years- until tonight. Most of this stuff isn’t even bad- it’s laughably terrible. This is even worse than I remembered. Of the now 838 different albums I’ve listened to in the past 5 months this is by far the worst. I will never listen to this album again.

  1. My best friend bought this Sgt Peppers. Both of us listened and were appalled. The George Burns track was the deciding factor. I’m glad I didn’t spend a penny on this trainwreck.
