Ten years ago today- at 6pm in the United States- June 29th, 2007 the iPHONE I went on sale to the public. I can clearly remember all the hubbub over this. People waiting in line to put down for the 4 GB version $499 or for the 8 GB model $599. The iPHONE I would be called by the media “The Jesus Phone” due to the passionate response it received. Apple would sell 6.1 million first generation iPHONES in the first 5 quarters. By the end of 2010 73. 5 million iPHONES had been sold. I had a cell phone at the time and avoided the iPhone until a few years ago.
