Goal is to listen to 1500 different albums in a period of 12 months.

TODAY listened to 4 different albums today. Total for 79 days- 504 different albums. On pace for 2329 different albums.

  • L.L. COOL J: ALL WORLD: GREATEST HITS: 1996: 4 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: Loved his early stuff- favorite songs- I Can’t Live Without My Radio, Rock The Bells, I Need Love, Going Back To Cali, Around The Way Girl and of course Mama Said Knock You Out.
  • PUBLIC ENEMY: POWER TO THE PEOPLE AND THE BEATS: PUBLIC ENEMY’S GREATEST HITS: 2006:  5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: My introduction to Public Enemy was “Fight The Power” when it appeared in Spike Lee’s best movie “Do The Right Thing.”  Chuck D was awesome, a great group in their prime.
  • BOB DYLAN: STREET LEGAL: 1978: 2 1/2 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: My first ‘new” Dylan album. I had become a fan after “Desire” and before this one. Kind of a disappointment. I bought this one the same day in Pittsburgh after a Pirate game- that I got my first ‘new” Rolling Stones album “Some Girls” “Some Girls” spent a lot more time on the turntable than this did. The main problem- the songs weren’t up to par. When the album cover is the best thing about the album you have a problem.
  • VAN MORRISON: MAGIC TIME: 2005: 4 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: Another good later-day Van Morrison album. Covers a variety of styles- from R&B to Celtic Rock to the blues. My two favorite songs on it- Celtic New Year and Just Like Greta. Again Van’s voice sounds great and strong.
