ALL 213 BEATLES SONGS RANKED FROM WORST TO FIRST- BY VULTURE.COM

Saw this the other day online. Interesting, I disagree with a lot of his list- the Beatles worst song- “Good Day Sunshine”- that is insane. I may have to come up with my own rankings but this is to me a good read. Everyone can have an opinion. I don’t think the Bill Wyman who wrote this article is THE Bill Wyman.

  1. I agree, “Good Day Sunshine” is a top 100 song for me, and “She’s Leaving Home” in such a lowly spot…???? Having said that I agree with much of the top 20. Number 1 I agree with however I never rated “Rain” as a top 20 of theirs even though it’s a great song.

    • Yes as he got closer to the top the list is better. There is a recent book out where an author has his Top 100 Beatles songs and writes about the songs. I think this list here is better than the ones in the book. I always think there is something different- when ranking the best and favorites. My list of favorite songs ever- wouldn’t necessarily be ‘the best’ – I think “A Day In The Life” is the best song by The Beatles- but it’s not my favorite- which would be either “In My Life” or “Strawberry Fields Forever.”

  2. Worst Beatles song? “Run For Your Life” which, if you listen to it, is a song about domestic violence being an acceptable reaction to an unfaithful girlfriend. It just sticks out as one of those songs that probably should have been rewritten, even though it is also a song that reflects its era, … I think that John did later acknowledge that it sends a bad message.

  3. If I recall Elvis had a song similar to this one.. and yes John later said it was one of the Beatles songs he hated the most.

    • I have never listened to a song played backwards but there are some bands/ artists who playing it backwards might be an improvement.
