Goal is to listen to 1500 different albums in a period of 12 months.

TODAY LISTENED TO 7 DIFFERENT ALBUMS- TOTAL FOR 45 DAYS- 279 DIFFERENT ALBUMS – ON PACE FOR 2263.

  • VAN MORRISON: HYMNS TO THE SILENCE: 1991: 3 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS. A double album with a little too much filler. Best tunes- “On Hyndford Street” and “Carrying A Torch.”
  • THE CRANBERRIES: EVERYBODY ELSE IS DOING IT, SO WHY CAN’T WE?: 1993: 4 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: Strong debut which sold 5 million copies in the US. “Linger” and “Dreams” the best cuts. Love Dolores O’Riordan’s vocals.
  • STEVE EARLE: SIDE TRACKS: 2002: 3 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS. A collection of songs that hadn’t been on any of Steve’s albums. A wide range of music on here. Good to have if your a Steve fan.
  • LED ZEPPELIN: LED ZEPPELIN IV [ZOSO} 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS. Led Zeppelin’s most famous album with the over played “Stairway To Heaven” on it. Great album full of fantastic songs.
  • ELVIS COSTELLO: OUT OF OUR IDIOT: 1987. 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS. Rare and unreleased EC from 1979-87. Some great stuff- much better the Steve Earle collection I listened to earlier in the day- but maybe EC just had held more good stuff back.
  • MICHAEL JACKSON: THRILLER: 1982: 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS. You may have heard about this one. The songs were overplayed to death in the 1980’s but it was a great album. I usually listen to it once every year.
  • JONI MITCHELL: LADIES OF THE CANYON: 1970: 4 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS. At this point, her third album- Joni was getting better with each album. This one had “Woodstock”, “The Circle Game” and “Big Yellow Taxi” on it.

One response to “PROJECT 1500 DIFFERENT ALBUMS- DAY 45 – 5.15.17

  1. Apart from the spontaneous (and impressive) “Rock & Roll” sounds “Led Zeppelin IV “for me a bit strained and constructed. So I didn’t listen to the album so often as the first three.
