• STEVE EARLE: WASHINGTON SQUARE SERENADE 2007: 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS. Steve’s best album since “Transcendental Blues”- He had recently moved to New York City and these are songs that were inspired by his move.
• THE ROLLING  STONES: STICKY FINGERS: 1971: 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS. In the middle of their greatest period. “Brown Sugar”, “Wild Horses” and one of my favorite Stones songs ever “Dead Flowers.” among the great tunes here.
• RY COODER: CHAVEZ RAVINE: 2005: 4 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS. Cooder’s concept album about Chavez Ravine in Los Angeles- the Mexican-American area that was demolished -and the area eventually was used to build Dodger Stadium. A diverse album- which won the Grammy for Best Contemporary Folk Album in 2006.
