FORMULA 1 LEGEND AYRTON SENNA KILLED AT SAN MARINO GRAND PRIX THIS DAY 1994

This day in 1994 was a very sad day in the world of motor sports. Ayrton Senna who many feel was the greatest Formula 1 driver ever- was killed in a crash at the San Marino Grand Prix. The Brazilian Senna was only 34 years of age. In his career he had made 161 career starts, winning 41 of those races. He was on 80 podiums, started on the pole in 65 of those races. He was a three time Formula One Champion- winning the title in 1988, 1990 and 1991.

The day before Senna’s death, Formula One rookie Roland Ratzenberger was killed in qualifying.
