The Bucs just missed out on the playoffs last season going 9-7. The last two seasons the NFC Champion has emerged from this division, Atlanta and Carolina. This is one of the toughest divisions in the NFL with the Saints making playoff appearances in the last few years as well. I honestly am not sure what the Bucs do here. I was thinking addressing the O Line, but they need a RB and here is a local boy that could stay home and contribute.
Cook is 5’10” 210″ and was a force in college, and typically played his best games against the best competition. He is a fluid downhill runner and has great vision and cut back abilities. There are a couple of drawbacks with Cook unfortunately, and these cannot be overlooked. He has had some injury history – hamstrings and rotator cuff surgeries, but it is his off the field issues that may make teams hesitate. Robbery and weapons charges that were dropped, and a battery case where he was found not guilty complicate picking Cook. However Tampa has had success taking a chance on a local boy and having him make good – Warren Sapp.
