MY T-SHIRT COLLECTION- GETTYSBURG 150TH- LINCOLN

IMG_0986

Gettysburg. I am a Civil War history nut and over the years we have made I’d estimate 100 trips to Gettysburg. Still learn things on every trip. A dream job would be – to become a licensed battlefield guide there.  We’ve made at least one trip a year there since 1997 but usually it’s like 4-5 trips. One year we made eight trips. One of the great things about a trip to Gettysburg is-we pass near Antietam and Harpers Ferry and usually pay visits to those places as well. Washington, D.C. isn’t that far away either.  A lot of things to do in the area. First trip of 2017 planned for mid-May.

The t-shirt from above was from 2013 the 150th anniversary year of the battle. We didn’t make it during the actual 150th- July 1-3, 2013 but the following weekend.  We would eat breakfast at a restaurant in Gettysburg called “The Avenue” that closed down a little over a year ago. They were selling this t-shirt.  I am a big Lincoln fan so I picked it up. It was a comfortable t-shirt and I liked the t-shirt so much on our next trip I picked up another of the same since they still had them in stock.

  1. I’m a Civil War nut too, and other Civil War nuts have told me I have the best collection of books on it in New Zealand!
I envy you being able to visit Gettysburg and all the others….
