Rock legend Eric Clapton turns 72 today. Clapton is the only artist who has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame three times, as a solo artist and as a member of the Yardbirds and Cream.  Clapton is considered to be one of the greatest guitarist ever.

I’ve seen him twice in concert- once in the early 1990’s when he was doing tour playing his best known songs and a few years later when he was touring for his “From The Cradle” blues album. His greatest song? Has to be “Layla” which he wrote for his future wife [and George Harrison’s wife at the time- Patti Boyd}
