The Los Angeles Dodgers Clayton Kershaw- the best pitcher in baseball turns 29 today. Kershaw has a career record of 126-60 with an ERA of 2.37. He has won three National League Cy Young Awards. He was on his way to a fourth Cy Young last year until he missed a couple months with a back injury. Clayton Kershaw became the only pitcher to lead Major League Baseball in lowest ERA for four consecutive seasons 2011-14. My favorite player to watch in baseball today.
I have often wondered what an even more impressive record Ferguson Jenkins would have had if he played with a winning team instead of the Cubs who could never back him up with a few more hits and runs.
and also what if Jenkins had played in a park better fit for pitchers- like Dodger Stadium.
I may be a Red Sox fan, but you have to give credit where credit id due – and Kershaw fits that bill!
I am really mad at the Yankees. I sent about twenty five cards 2016, one for each of the players for autographs. You send the letter with card and SASE. Two came back with address crossed out(Tampa, Steinbrenner Stadium) marked undeliverable. One came back with my empty unsealed return envelop. Only card got back signed Nick Goody. Someone in the mail room must be trashing all the letters. I have decided to write to Casey Stengel to get this fixed ASAP.
He’s outstanding, and there a few to rival him…maybe Bumgarner
