On this date in 1940 during World War II- Germany’s Fuhrer Adolf Hitler and Italy’s II Duce Benito Mussolini met at the Brenner Pass in the Alps and agreed to form an alliance against the United Kingdom and France. By this point Hitler was the dominate personality in this relationship but early on it was Mussolini, who was in power first who Hitler idolized. Things didn’t turn out well for either man- and they died within two days of one another in April 1945.
An interesting fact!
