ACADEMY AWARDS AKA ‘THE OSCAR’S’ TONIGHT- DOES ANYONE CARE?

The Academy Awards are on tonight. Over the years I have sometimes watched the entire awards show, sometimes just a little of it. This year I have no interest at all. I am looking over the nine movies nominated for “Best Picture” and for the first time in memory I have not seen one of them. I am sure some of these pictures are pretty good movies but are any of these movies- movies that will be talked about in ten years as ‘must see’ movies? [I have just made a decision to try and watch all of these movies in the next month or so-just a little project.] I usually have had a rooting interest in some of these categories. I loved this movie- or this performance by an actor/actress and wanted to see them win. Usually I had seen most of the movies, etc. Every year around Christmas when there would be a number of the Oscar type movies were released I’d see 5-10 of the movies over a period of a month. I didn’t go see one this year because nothing out interested me. Is it me or is this a pretty bad year as far as movies go? I know they raked in a bunch of $$$$$ this year but what is the must see movie of 2016? Was there one? I have always had fun trying to ‘pick the winners’-this year i didn’t even think about filling in a ballot. I will probably watch some of it tonight because it’s what I do but I have no interest.
